I have come into the world as a light...

...so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.
John 12:46

There is no better way to understand these words of Jesus than to live in total darkness for a couple of months. To see how quickly, even a sliver of the sun, pushes back the darkness is amazing...

I headed out on President's Day, along with a few people on my floor, to see if we could see the sun...and after many months of darkness, there it was, finally above the horizon...

the sun! To give you some reference this picture was taken shortly before noon.
Me, the sun, my down coat, and a few degrees below zero.

The view from North Mountain out to Dundas Village and Mt. Dundas.

A short couple of hours later the sun was on its way down again. This picture was taken about 1:30. Thankfully, we should gain daylight back, just about as fast as we lost it...about 20 minutes a day.
